Woman dies in auto-pedestrian accident

A female pedestrian was killed by a motor vehicle accident that occurred in Massachusetts on June 15. The collision reportedly happened near the intersection of Dogwood Road on Hampton Road in Sharon around 4:30 p.m. State police, local police and the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office investigated the incident throughout the remainder of the day.

Investigators believe the 20-year-old woman was out jogging when she was struck by a vehicle. She was brought to Norwood Hospital to receive medical treatment but eventually succumbed to her injuries. Family members were at the hospital with the victim, but her name had not been released to the public as of 9 p.m. that night. Police suspect a white Ford Explorer to be the vehicle involved in the hit and run.

Pedestrians often suffer the most serious injuries of anyone on America’s roadways. Many times, in accidents like this one, the victim is unable to overcome the serious trauma inflicted by a motor vehicle. Immediate relatives of the woman killed in the accident may consider filing a wrongful death claim if police are able to apprehend the driver.
