News: Injuries, delays prompted after dump truck crash in Saugus
SAUGUS, MA – A driver of a garbage truck hit an overpass in the area of Walnut Street around 7 a.m. Friday.
According to NBC Boston, the impact of the collision caused a large hole in the metal support beams that held the bridge. In addition, traffic delays were prompted, and two right lanes were blocked.
At the time of reporting, Walnut Street’s westbound off-ramp and the left, right, and center lanes reopened.
The driver of the truck sustained unspecified injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.
Repairs will be conducted to the bridge.
