Massachusetts man killed in pedestrian accident

Pedestrians can be the most vulnerable individuals who are located on or near the road when they are compared to the various vehicles that are driven on the same roads. This, combined with the negligence of some drivers, can be a dangerous combination that ends with the injury or death of the pedestrian. Unfortunately, a pedestrian accident in Massachusetts recently killed one person.

The victim was a 74-year-old man who was walking near his house at around 8:20 a.m. The driver did not stop after the accident took place, but emergency personnel arrived soon after the accident and transported the man to the hospital by helicopter. The man was supposedly conscious and talking to local police after the accident, but died at the hospital soon after he arrived.

The driver of the vehicle, a 93-year-old male, did not initially stop after the accident took place but was caught by police a few miles away from the scene. The driver reportedly was not aware that he had struck a pedestrian. The collision is still under investigation by police.

Once the investigation of the pedestrian accident is completed, the family of the deceased Massachusetts’ victim may have the right to seek monetary compensation for the tragic loss of life. Compensation could be used by the family to pay for any of the victim’s final expenses. Although money will never take away the pain that losing a loved one can place on a family, it could help the family focus on emotional healing instead of on new bills.
