Fatal Motor Vehicle Accidents

Law enforcement officials say they are still investigating a fatal car accident early yesterday morning involving a man from Mansfield, Massachusetts. A Vermont woman was killed in the collision just after midnight in Claremont, New Hampshire. "Speed appears to have been a factor and everything else is under investigation," Claremont's police chief said. Officials said a 29-year-old Mansfield man was driving his Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck on the town's main street when the vehicle swerved into the opposite lane and slammed into a minivan driven by a 42-year-old Vermont woman. As they entered a Wareham District courtroom earlier this week, the three men linked arms, tears streaming from their eyes. They were about to see the man accused of driving while intoxicated in a fatal car crash that took the life of their father. The 20-year-old defendant faces motor vehicle homicide charges.
