19-Year-Old Crashes Into Several Police Vehicles in High-Speed Pursuit
A 19-year-old from New Hampshire is facing serious charges after a high-speed pursuit involving multiple police cruisers. The incident began when Jack Dobbins, of Waterville Valley, allegedly attempted to evade New Hampshire State Police while driving recklessly on Interstate 93, eventually ramming into two police vehicles. Dobbins now faces several charges, including disobeying an officer, reckless driving, driving after license revocation or suspension, and multiple felony counts of reckless conduct with a deadly weapon.
The chase began around 7:44 p.m. on a Saturday when a State Police trooper attempted to stop Dobbins for reportedly speeding at 104 mph in his 2015 Ford Focus.
Rather than comply, Dobbins allegedly turned off his headlights and continued driving at high speeds, disregarding the trooper’s attempt to pull him over. The pursuit intensified as Dobbins entered a residential area in Holderness, where he attempted a U-turn and crashed into a fully marked State Police cruiser, disabling it. This collision put both the trooper and his K-9 partner at significant risk, according to a statement from New Hampshire State Police.
As additional state and local law enforcement arrived on the scene, Dobbins continued his efforts to escape, turning the chase into a prolonged 45-minute pursuit. During this time, he allegedly drove toward an officer who was outside their vehicle, further endangering law enforcement personnel. Dobbins also attempted to evade capture by hiding his car in various locations, including a residential driveway. However, police were able to surround him, and he ultimately rammed his vehicle into a second State Police cruiser multiple times before becoming stuck. Dobbins was then apprehended.
Alongside Dobbins was a female passenger who was briefly detained but later released without charges. Following his arrest, Dobbins received medical treatment for minor injuries on the scene and was subsequently held without bail at the Grafton County Department of Corrections. Authorities report that there were no other injuries, but they are continuing to investigate the incident. Anyone with information related to the chase is encouraged to reach out to Trooper Nathaniel Perkins at 603-451-9543.
